BRIAN CROWER Stage 3 RACE USE Camshaft Kit, Ford Duratec & Mazda MZR / MX5
This is a pair of Brian Crower performance camshafts developed for the Ford Duratec VVT & Mazda MZR engines.
- 2.0L – LF-DE, LF-VE, LF-VD
- 2.3L – L3-VE, L3-NS, L3-DE
- 2.5L – L5-VE
- Fits models with 6 tooth reluctor/timing plate
The MaZda Responsive series (MZR) and Ford Duratec are world platform engines and range in displacement from 2.0L, 2.3L and 2.5L. The 2.0L L-engine (MZR LF-VE) is popular in the Mazda MX-5 (NC) Miata chassis from 2005 to 2015 and features 10:1 compression ratio, 87.5mm bore and 83.1mm stroke. This engine is also in the Ford Focus with the 2.0L and 2.3L Duratec. The 2.5L features 89mm bore and 100mm stroke with 9.7:1 compression ratio. Fits 6 tooth reluctor applications.
This performance camshaft kit is rated ‘STAGE 3’ strictly for racing use. The added lift profile provides faster action ramps for quicker spool up rates, alongside longer duration profile for added RPM potential. It is recommended to use this kit on race engines that have been built and prepared for racing use only. Custom ECU mapping and Brian Crower’s BC0400 valve spring kit is mandatory.
